Community Beach Sweep
In April of 2014 Enfuse partnered with Clean Ocean Action in their Beach Sweep efforts. Enfuse had over 20 volunteers canvassing the woods for trash and other debris. We started out in Seaside Park and then made our way to the Brown’s Woods Recreation area in Toms River. Showing our community love by getting our hands dirty, it’s what we’re all about.
There were volunteers from Clean Ocean Action teaching us about the Bay and the different jelly fish you can find thriving there. They seined the water to grab up some living bay creatures we could touch and hold. What an awesome treat for the kids on our team. We also participated in making compost buckets for our gardens at home. The kids were able to make homemade paper! When is the last time you made some paper? These were all fantastic opportunities to learn more about the environment around us.
The best and most thrilling thing for all our volunteers was finding the trash in the woods and filling up lots of garbage bags to haul away to the dump. Getting out there on a beautiful day in April was great for the soul. Following the trails and overlooking the Barnegat Bay does wonders for the mind. We hope you can join us for our next clean up!
